Overview


Primalogik 360 can integrate with BambooHR to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) as well as user provisioning and synchronization from BambooHR to Primalogik. In this scenario, BambooHR acts as the "employee hub" and system of record for employee data. Employee records are created and edited in BambooHR and the data automatically flows to Primalogik 360 so you don't have to maintain two different sets of records.


Prerequisites


This integration assumes that the client organization already has an account both in Primalogik 360 and in BambooHR. The organization account must be created separately in each application. The two accounts can then be linked together via the integration.


If you don't have a Primalogik account, you can start a free trial now. You will have full access to the application for 30 days, including all integration features. The only limitation is that you cannot have more than 10 active users in the free trial, so you won't be able to import more users than that from BambooHR.


For the integration to work, the Company Directory must be enabled in BambooHR and it must be visible to the user configuring the integration. This is usually the default in BambooHR.


Setup and configuration


The integration must be configured by a user having Administrator privilege in Primalogik as well as Admin access level in BambooHR. Once the prerequisites are met, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Primalogik 360.
  2. From the Administration menu (cog wheel at the top), select "Manage Account".
  3. In the left menu, select "Integration". You should see a screen similar to this:
  4. Follow the instructions under "BambooHR Integration".
  5. If everything worked as expected, you should be redirected to BambooHR briefly and then you should be brought back to the Integration page in Primalogik 360. The page should now look like this:
  6. Notice the "Link URL" field. You will need that value later in the section "Single Sign-On link in BambooHR".


If it did not work as expected or if you get an error message during the setup process, contact Primalogik support.


Manually import/update users


Once the integration is configured, it will be in manual mode by default. In this mode, users are not automatically imported and updated from BambooHR. Instead, it is up to the administrator to decide which users to import and when to do it. This mode can be useful if you only want to import a subset of the users you have in Bamboo, for example if you want to test the integration with a few users only.


To manually import users, click on the "Import now" link at the bottom of the Integration page, next to the option "Manually import/update users from BambooHR", then follow the instructions on the next page.


Automatically import/update users


The first time you configure the integration to automatically import/update users, it will start a background task and try to import all active users from BambooHR. For this to work, there must be enough room in your Primalogik 360 subscription to import all the users that exist in Bamboo. If it is not the case, a warning message will be displayed in the Integration settings page, inviting you to upgrade your subscription.


After the initial importation of users, the automatic synchronization will run every 15 minutes. It will retrieve the list of users that have changed in Bamboo since the last run and synchronize those users only. If there is a problem with the API credentials or if the maximum number of users has been reached for the current subscription, an email notification will be sent automatically to the Primalogik 360 administrators.


Single Sign-On link in BambooHR


To complete the integration setup, add a link to Primalogik 360 inside BambooHR so that users can access Primalogik with a single click, without having to authenticate again. Follow these steps:

  1. Keep the Primalogik Integration screen open in a browser tab (you will need it later) and open a new tab to log in to BambooHR.
  2. Log in to your BambooHR account and navigate to the "Home" screen.
  3. Find the "Company Links" widget and click on "Manage":
  4. Click "+ Add Link" under one of the existing categories (or optionally add a new category, e.g. "Performance Reviews").
  5. Enter "Primalogik 360" for the "Link Name".

  6. Copy the value of the "Link URL" field from the Primalogik Integration screen (in the other browser tab) and paste it in the "Link URL" field of BambooHR:

  7. Click Save.

  8. Go back to the "Home" screen and test the Single Sign-On link by clicking on "Primalogik 360" in the "Comapny Links" widget. If the link does not work, contact Primalogik support.
