Administrators can create automation rules to schedule and launch performance appraisals automatically. Rules can be defined with various filters and criteria and adapt to different situations. Here are some examples of the types of reviews you can automate with these rules:
- Launch annual reviews every year on a specific date.
- Launch reviews every year X days before/after each employee's work anniversary
- Initiate reviews once for each employee X days after they are hired.
You can combine multiple rules to adapt to your needs. For example you could create three rules so that everybody gets a review 30, 60 and 90 days after they are hired.
Automation rules are defined in the Automations page under Account Settings. In this page you will see a list of automation rule.
Use the Add button to create a new rule or Edit to modify existing ones.
Automation Rules
These are the different component of Automation rules and how to use them.
Name and Notifications
A rule has a name and a recipient for notifications. These notifications will be sent to the selected recipient to inform of any activity performed under the rule. It will include information about any review cycles created, the number of appraisals created and any errors that may have occurred.
Timing
Allows you to define when the rule should be triggered. The rule can run one time or repeat every year. For repeating rules you can choose to repeat on a specific date for everyone or make it depend on employee's hire dates.
Reviewees
The rule can apply to everyone in the organization or to a subset of employees.
Cycle
You can define the type or workflow you want to use by providing a review cycle as a template.
Assessments
Lastly, you define the details for your assessment like questionnaire and the timing between self-review and manager review.
